Phizzical Productions presents
Big B - The Musical, a new production from
the writer/director of the 2005 box office hit
Precious Bazaar. |
Big B - The Musical highlights the
delicate balance between patients, families
and the medical staff. It explores the
delusions of a young man in psychiatric ward
and the impact on his family in his road to
recovery.
The inspiration behind
the play is the life-threatening accident
that the legendary Bollywood actor
Amitabh Bachchan had in 1982, and the
impact it had on his fans.
The above photographs are a result of
workshops that explored Amitabh Bachchan's
screen persona Vijay - through a medley of
his hits, and performed to excited audiences
at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre, for the
UK Finals of Boogie Woogie 2007.
The
cast and crew
were discovered through BollyIdol 2005/6, a
nationwide talent search initiative.
Like all Phizzical Productions projects,
Big B - The Musical challenges mainstream ideology
and mythology surrounding South Asians while
offering thought provoking
theatre.
As a non-profit organisation, Phizzical
Productions relies on funding from
individuals and business with a keen
interest in the arts.
Big B - The Musical's sponsors include Aartus Litho Ltd, Arts &
