1. BollyIdol ("the Competition")
is organised by Phizzical Productions
Limited ("the Organiser").
2.
The Competition
is open only to residents living in
Europe with
the exception of anyone professionally associated with
BollyIdol.
3. The
Competition is open to non-professional actors and
students (aged 16 years or over at the
audition date) only. Entrants
under the age of 18 years must have their entry form signed
by their parent/guardian.
4.
Persons who entertain whether it is their whole or part time
income are allowed to compete so long as that person
does not cause
the Organiser to pay such contestant a
fee or any other benefit for taking part in any event.
5. The closing
date for the Performance category is 20 November
2005. The closing date for the Technical category
is 31 December 2005.
6. There is no entry fee.
7. Only one entry will be accepted per person
per category.
8. Each entry form must be must be signed
and accompanied with all relevant
supporting evidence, e.g. photographs videos, CD's, etc.
9. Terms and conditions are subject to change or
modification at any time by the promoters.
10. The
Organiser accept no responsibility for incomplete,
lost, damaged, or indecipherable entries.
11. The
Organiser accept no responsibility for difficulties
experienced in either accessing this website or submitting
an entry to BollyIdol.
12. The laws of England shall govern these terms and
conditions and the Courts of England shall have exclusive
jurisdiction in relation thereto.
13. By entering the Competition, all entrants are deemed to
accept these terms and conditions.
14. Any failure by any entrant to abide by these conditions
of entry may result in disqualification.
Judging and prize
15. The BollyIdol prize provides final cast with:

photoshoot
-
A
prestigious platform to showcase their talent and an
open door into the arts.
16. The prize must be taken as stated and cannot be
deferred. There will be no cash alternatives.
17. The
Organiser reserve the right to terminate or
temporarily suspend the competition in the event of
technical or other difficulties that might compromise their
integrity.
18. BollyIdol winners will be required to attend necessary
rehearsal schedules in 2006.
19. Should the winners miss more than 3 rehearsals without
prior consent, the promoters can select any of the
short-listed candidates suitable for the character
20. Winners will be required to attend perform on allocated
dates and venues in 2006.
21. The selection of this draw will be final and no
correspondence will be entered into.
Publicity
22. By entering the Competition,
the entrants and winners agree to participate in
reasonable publicity as requested by the
Organiser.
23. The
Organiser reserves the right to seek and issue publicity
on behalf of Entrants.
24. The
Organiser will only collect, process and store
information about you that has been openly collected from
you or with your consent. The personal details you supply including any sensitive data will be held for
job application purposes and in relation to this competition
only. Your details will
not be made available to any Third Party.
25. Decisions of the
creative team are final.
Audition
26. Technical
entrants e.g. choreography and song-writing may include
backup dancers and singers.
27. Performance entrants cannot utilize live props. This
includes back-up singers, dancers, or animals. Non-human
props such as costumes and other accessories are permitted.
28. Due to time constraints, music that fails to play, skips
in mid-performance, or has any other malfunction does not
give the contestant the right to start over or use
alternative music during the preliminary rounds. The cause
of malfunction may or may not be taken into consideration
for allowing a contestant to continue. A contestant who has
performed a portion of the song prior to any malfunction may
or may not have their performance cut short. In the case of
such action the judges will be instructed to judge the
contestant as though the contestant completed the song.
29. All music must be in original CD
format. Computer generated CD's may not function, and
will not be considered.
30. At times entrants will not appear at their prescribed
time to perform, thus eliminating them from competition.
When this occurs it speeds up the contest process, thus
changing the order of appearance time for contestants due to
compete. It is the contestant's responsibility to be present
when his or her number is called for competition, regardless
of the estimated and posted start time. Contestants who do
not appear when their number is called will not be allowed
to continue in the contest.
31. Fairness is the main objective in this contest. To that
end the contestants name or number will be the only
identifying marker used when being announced. Area, town or
location of the competing contestant will not be announced.
The exception to this rule will be for production publicity.
32. There are a limited number of slots; once these are
full, no more entries will be accepted. Applicants who
submit completed entry forms prior to the closing date take
precedence over individuals arriving on the day.
Finally
33. In consideration of the
Organiser agreeing to assess entries to the Events
each Entrant by entering licenses the
Organiser for itself and those authorised by it the
exclusive right to use an entry for communication to the
public (which includes broadcasting and internet use) and
all other rights for the purposes of the Competition.
This licence shall subsist in the case of unsuccessful
entries until the end of the Competition
(31/3/06) or until the entrant is unsuccessful if sooner and
in the case of successful entries until the end of the Competition
or until if later the conclusion of any good faith
continuing discussions with the Organiser
concerning future use of the entry. This will assist
the Organiser in handling the
large number of entries it anticipates receiving. The
Organiser shall also be entitled
to include entries in its website and
showcase.
34. Entrants consent to being filmed and recorded by
the Organiser where
required for the Competition and
for films or recordings made pursuant to this rule being
used for all purposes of the Competition.
35. The
Organiser reserves the right to refuse any entry for any
reason at its absolute discretion.
36. No entries will be returned and shall become the property
of the Organiser. It is therefore advisable for each Entrant to
retain a copy where appropriate.
37. Entrants must submit only their own original work and
agree that this will not infringe the copyright or any other
rights of any third party.
38. The Entrant(s) must be the sole author of the entry
(except where more specifically provided).
39. Entrants permit the
Organiser to edit or change
entries in any way it may in its sole discretion consider
necessary for the purposes of use in the Competition.
40. Entrants, by entering a
Category, waive in favour of the
Organiser and those authorised by it any so-called “moral rights”
they may have in relation to an entry which waiver shall
subsist for the period of the Competition or if sooner until
the entrant is unsuccessful.
41. The description of the awards
prizes and selection process in any Competition
literature or other medium is not binding and may be varied
by the Organiser and the
Organiser may make
additional awards or prizes but it shall not be obliged to
make any award or prize if it considers it inappropriate to
do so.
42. Entry to the Competition
by Entrants is done at their own risk. Attendance by
Entrants at any Event staged by the
Organiser
and travel to and from any such Event is also at the
Entrant’s own risk and the Organiser accepts no responsibility or
liability in this regard.
43. Acceptance of these rules is a condition of entry and
receipt of an entry by the Organiser amounts to acceptance of the
rules.
44. The
Organiser shall not be obliged to make use of any entry
and shall not be liable for any loss of publicity or
enhancement of reputation.
45. Entries are made at an
Entrant’s own expense and the Organiser
shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in
making an entry (except where more specifically provided).
46. Entrants selected for the
second stage or subsequent stages of any Event may be asked
to undertake not to accept any engagements of the kind being
assessed by such Event for any United Kingdom broadcaster
other than the Organiser prior to
the end of the Competition without
having first entered into good faith discussions with the
Organiser.
47. In the event that the
Organiser wishes to use an Entrant’s
contributions outside the context of the Competition, or should
an Entrant be shortlisted as a semi-finalist or Finalist and
such Entrant’s contributions which are being assessed be
broadcast or otherwise used by the
Organiser, the Entrant will be
offered the Organiser’s standard contract and terms appropriate to
such contribution.
