I Am Here
Directed by Jaqueline Dommisse
Written and Performed by Peter Hayes
They tell us, “Carpe Diem,” and, “Live every day as if it were your last.” It’s a little easier when tomorrow is in your blood. It all started with a 1000km, 42 day pilgrimage through Spain: El Camino de Santiago de Compostella. At the end of it all Peter Hayes had decided on the goal of fatherhood: he would adopt. Getting his ducks in a row included a full medical where he found out he was HIV positive. I AM HERE parallels the journeys of walking the Camino and walking this new road, not chosen, this road of HIV. Both journeys walked with tomorrow in his blood.
