Antakshari is a (transl. The game of the ending letter) is a spoken parlor game played by South Asians globally. Contestant sing the first verse of a song (often a Classical Hindustani or Bollywood song) that begins with the Hindustani consonant on which the previous contestant’s song selection ended.
“Ever since we took Antakshari online, it has been a lot of fun; we have seen intergenerational South Asians join us from all over UK and beyond. Some days, we have had people from four continents play along in teams enabling participants to interact with people far beyond our local neighbourhoods. The highlight is when family members connect their grandparents to technology and they re-introduce the hidden and forgotten songs to a new generation.” says Samir Bhamra.
Antakshari takes place between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Follow the login instructions from our Facebook events page.
