PRECIOUS BAZAAR: this Bollywood music and dance extravaganza is back after last year’s hit debut with supercharged action and intense drama. Starring the winners of the nationwide talent search show, Bollywood Idol2004, this is a contemporary tale of young love, family values and honour.

PRECIOUS BAZAAR is the story of mujrawalis (courtesans) who live and work amidst the hustle and bustle of a thriving west London environment. Each night these dancers travel with their Madame to various underground clubs where the girls have to please all – at a price.

Suhani, a promising reporter, goes undercover to expose this thriving prostitution racket. Disguised as a dancer she enters this seedy world, leaving her fiancé, Amar to arrange their impending wedding.

Roshni is a young woman who has given up on her dreams. When Prem, the local MPs son falls in love with her, she finds herself returning his affection. But can she break free from Madame’s grip and live happily ever after?

PRECIOUS BAZAAR is the story of Suhani and Roshni, young women from two different worlds who become friends and learn that love cannot be bought or sold.

Featuring a cast of 17 actors, this show is packed with the best of contemporary Asian music and familiar Bollywood tracks that will make the audience thrill.

Phizzical Productions was set up to foster and promote the talents of young British Asians in performing arts and their talent show, Bollywood Idol identified the cast for this debut show. The company was shorlisted for the Windrush Awards, 2004 in the arts category.
