Festival opening film:
Side A & Side B

Sun 18 March, 7.30pm
Phoenix Cinema, Leicester MAP

Film followed by Q&A with Rahat Kazmi, director and cast

A humorous and satirical take on the 1993 Kashmir conflict, Side A & Side B presents a community’s love of cinema during the most extreme and life-threatening circumstances.

An unlikely group of friends come together to make their own movie in a place where TV and films have been  banned by local extremists. A mere mention of cinema could get them killed.

Rahat Kazmi’s charming black comedy is as poignant as it is playful, shedding light on how even the harshest of situations can give rise to the greatest humanity.
