Zoya Akhtar and her GullyBoy

FacebookTwitterRedditPinterestEmail

From balcony concerts to virtual raves, music has helped people remain connected all over the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. Film has a unique power to embody the immediacy, intensity and sense of community that makes music so special, and with the experience of live gigs still missing from our lives, we present a season of films exploring music and its ability to move, connect and elicit change.

As part of Phoenix Cinema’s Sound on Screen season of films, Samir Bhamra spoke to acclaimed filmmaker and writer Zoya Akhtar about her film GullyBoy.

This season is part of Film Feels: Connected, a UK-wide cinema season, supported by the National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network.  Explore all films and events at filmfeels.co.uk
