Showmi Das has trained in the North Indian Classical Dance form of Kathak,, under Jayashree Acharya, a senior disciple of the world renowned Pandit Birju Maharaj. Showmi has also trained in Bangladeshi Folk dance, basics of Bharatnatyam, Manipuri, Odissi & Western Contemporary. Since the start of her practice, Showmi has been involved in the arts and entertainment sector Worldwide – namely within Bangladesh, India, UK, USA and Europe. Showmi works as a Dancer, Choreographer, Actress, Puppeteer, Model and TV/Stage Presenter, besides specialising in dance and theatre. Showmi is the Director of The Rokeya Project – an arts education and learning project dedicated to working with various age groups predominantly through dance and theatre, raising awareness of issues faced by women within all societies today.  Showmi has enjoyed performing to a range of audiences in her career, including Tony Blair, David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Prince of Wales, and Her Majesty The Queen.
