The story of Sita is retold through dance by profoundly deaf Kathak dancer Nehal Bhogaita (Miss India Worldwide 2013).

This new work brings a resonance of Sita’s life that is often missed from recitals and narrations. Nehal collaborated with Kathak choreographer Sonia Sabri and composer Sarvar Sabri create a contemporary dance on camera piece with Jason Elberts on the mythological character Sita for the 18th UK Asian Film Festival marking International Women’s Day. This digital art premiered at British Library on 6 March 2016 at the festival’s Ram Lila story telling event led by Dr Seema Anand. Sita was visioned by festival director Dr Pushpinder Chowdhry and led by creative director Samir Bhamra.
